- Each guest shares brief, private reflections. Your Director reads the room before anyone arrives, understanding the themes and dynamics that shape your group, and writes the Director's Brief, a private plan that is never shared with the group.
- On the day
- Your Director guides conversation naturally throughout, opening space for unhurried, honest dialogue without it feeling staged or clinical, and knowing when to stop.
- Afterward
- You receive a custom Relational Map: a practical synthesis to take back into daily life or work.
Founder
Paul Mola.
Founder & Experience Director
Paul Mola brings more than two decades of leadership across life sciences, global partnerships and entrepreneurship to The Third Field. As founder and former CEO of Roswell Biotechnologies, and previously President of Global Enterprise Solutions at Life Technologies, he brought people together across disciplines, cultures and institutions. His work included helping build the Saudi Human Genome Project, navigating relationships and negotiations around an undertaking of national significance.
He also brings the particular experience of startup leadership: decisions made quickly, uncertainty carried personally, and relationships in which founders, investors and teams can share an ambition while holding different priorities, motivations and expectations. In these settings, how people work through difference has consequences for everyone involved.
This experience informs Paul’s approach as a Director: attentive to context, respectful of different perspectives, and focused on what people can do next. At The Third Field, he helps teams, partners and families examine the patterns between them, make space for honest conversation, and turn what they discover into a practical agreement they can carry into everyday life.
Working with a Director
For couples, a 45-minute conversation once your Map is delivered. For teams, a 60-minute debrief, a virtual half-day workshop, or a full day in person at your site. In wine country, through Terroir Trails, a Director-led day is a Council.
